Bharatiya Vichar Manch is an intellectual movement.  The thought is supreme.  Thoughts influence one’s level of consciousness.  Therefore, thought alone, in a right direction and noble spirit, is a starting point of creativity.  It creates certain level of consciousness in the society.  In turn, the degree of the level of consciousness in the common man determines the strength of a Nation.

For thousands of years, great thinkers and sears of this country have showered diverse streams of thoughts and ideas on this society, which are of eternal value.  One unique feature of these thoughts is harmonious relationship between apparently conflicting dual relationship between two entities such as self and non-self, individual and society or mankind, living and non-living, etc.  This integral approach is vividly explained in the Vedic chants:  “Poornamadha Poornamidam….”

This approach has also enabled Bharatiya society to encompass and embrace several divergent noble schools of thoughts.  It has not only declared them equally good but always welcomed all such noble thoughts from all the sides of universe (Aa No Bhadrah Kratavo Yantu Vishwatah).

We think that this integral thought process is the key strength of our society and culture.  Creation of dynamic social structure on the strong foundation of eternal and universal principles is the hallmark of our nation.  In past, at every critical milestone of the history of this nation, intellectuals of diverse streams, but all having integral approach, raised the level of consciousness of a common person in the society, which is then reflected as a nation’s strength.

However, as a result of several historical, social and political reasons, this process is slowed down considerably in the recent times.  We firmly believe that there is an urgent need to rekindle this process of bringing intellectuals of diverse streams, who have deep faith in Bharatiya value system, culture, thoughts and ethos, and have firm resolve of restructuring the society on the basis of these principles, on a common intellectual forum.  Bharatiya Vichar Manch intends to bring together so that their combined resources can be utilized to give appropriate direction to our society.

BVM intends to bring thinkers in different fields on a common platform and arranges healthy deliberations, which could be an interesting intellectual exercise as well as it could possibly evolve identifying possible solutions for different issues faced by the society.
