इस ध्येय सूत्र के साथ कार्यरत, भारतीय विचार मंच एक बौद्धिक आंदोलन है।

विचार सर्वोपरि है।
विचार व्यक्ति की चेतना के स्तर को प्रभावित करते हैं। इसलिए योग्य दिशा और प्रभावी प्रस्तुति के साथ किया गया प्रत्येक विचार सर्जनशीलता का पहला कदम है।

युगो युगो से इस राष्ट्र के महान चिंतको एवं विचारकों ने इस समाज को शाश्वत मूल्यों के साथ संबंधित वैविध्य पूर्ण विचार और उद्देश्य दिए हैं। इन मूल्यों की एक अद्भुत विशेषता स्पष्ट रूप से परस्पर विरोधी विचार प्रवाहों के बीच तालमेल भरे संबंध स्थापित करने की है। इस समग्रता को वैदिक मंत्रों में विविध प्रकार से समझाई गई है, जैसे कि ‘पूर्णमद: पूर्णमिदं।’ 

इस दृष्टिकोण ने भारतीय समाज को भिन्न भिन्न विचार प्रवाहों की रचना करने का बल प्रदान किया, और ऐसे प्रत्येक प्रयत्न को श्रेष्ठ माना है। इतना ही नहीं, भारतीय सभ्यता ने दसों दिशाओं से प्राप्त श्रेष्ठ विचारों का  स्वागत किया है। 

भारतीय विचार मंच की मान्यता है कि यह पूर्ण विचार प्रक्रिया हमारे समाज और संस्कृति का चालक बल है। शाश्वत सिद्धांतों के मजबूत प्रतिष्ठान पर समयानुकूल गतिशील सामाजिक जीवन रचना यह हमारे राष्ट्र के श्रेष्ठत्व का प्रमाण है। 

इस राष्ट्र के इतिहास के सभी महत्वपूर्ण चरणों पर विविध मार्ग से चल रहे किंतु समग्रता का दृष्टिकोण रखने वाले भिन्न-भिन्न मनीषियों ने समाज के सामान्य मनुष्य की चेतना को अधिक से अधिक प्रबल कीया है जो हमेशा राष्ट्र की शक्ति के स्वरूप में प्रकट हुआ है। 

यद्यपि कुछ ऐतिहासिक, सामाजिक और राजकीय कारणों से एक लंबे समय से यह प्रक्रिया अत्यंत सुस्त होकर रह गई है।

भारतीय विचार मंच की ऐसी दृढ़ मान्यता है कि भारतीय मूल्य व्यवस्था, संस्कृति, विचारों, आस्थाओं और प्रकृति के प्रति आस्थावान एवं उन सिद्धांतों के आधार पर राष्ट्र के नवोत्थान के लिए संकल्पबद्ध ऐसे विभिन्न विचारधाराओं को धारण करने वाले विचारकों को परस्पर सहमति के सूत्र की खोज कर उसके आधार पर एक समान मंच पर लाने की प्रक्रिया को फिर से गतिमान करने की अत्यंत आवश्यकता है। यह प्रक्रिया एक रोचक व्यायाम बनने के साथ ही समाज जिस अनेक समस्याओं का सामना कर रहा है उसके संभवित समाधान ढूंढने की दिशा में भी महत्वपूर्ण मार्गदर्शन प्रदान कर सकती है।

Bhartiya Vichar Manch is an intellectual movement inspired by the Vedic principle that thought is supreme. Thought shapes the level of an individual’s consciousness; therefore, every thought that is rightly directed and effectively articulated can become the first step towards creativity.

For thousands of years, the great thinkers and philosophers of Bharat have enriched society with diverse ideas and purposes rooted in eternal values. One of the remarkable features of these values is their ability to establish harmony among apparently divergent streams of thought. This spirit of wholeness and inclusiveness is expressed in the Vedic tradition in many forms, including the profound invocation “Purnamadaha Purnamidam…”

This outlook gave Bharatiya society the strength to develop diverse streams of thought while respecting each sincere intellectual endeavour. It also cultivated the openness to welcome noble ideas from all ten directions. The Manch believes that this integral process of thought is a driving force of society and culture.

A dynamic social order, responsive to the needs of its time while firmly established on eternal principles, is a defining expression of the vitality of the nation. At every important juncture in the history of Bharat, sages, thinkers and intellectuals following diverse paths, yet retaining an integral vision, have strengthened the consciousness of the common person. That awakened consciousness has repeatedly manifested itself as the strength of the nation.

Although historical, social and political circumstances have caused this process to slow considerably over a long period, Bhartiya Vichar Manch firmly believes that it is necessary to revive and accelerate it. The Manch seeks to bring together thinkers representing diverse intellectual streams who have faith in the Bharatiya value system, culture, thought, ethos and relationship with nature, and who are committed to national renewal on the foundation of these principles. Finding points of convergence and bringing such thinkers together on a common platform can become an engaging intellectual endeavour while also offering meaningful direction towards possible solutions to the many challenges faced by society.

• अभी तक मंच ने वर्ष 2009 से सातत्यपूर्ण हर साल महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर द्वि दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठियों को आयोजन किया हैं । –
  • जिसमें सच्चर कमेटी रिपोर्ट, वर्तमान परिप्रेक्ष्य में हिंदुत्व, हिंदू राजनीति, धर्मांधता और साम्राज्यवाद, औपनिवेशिक मानसिकता से भारतीय मानस की मुक्ति, विश्व कल्याण : भारतीय मूल्यआधारित नवरचना जैसे और भी विषय हैं ।
